I love Pie.
To celebrate Pi day my family had a pie party yesterday.
This was just a fraction of the pies...I think we counted around 30 then more people showed up with more pie. It was FABULOUS.
I made a chocolate turtle pudding pie.
I think I'm going to be full for days, I had waaaay tooo much pie.
But you really have to ask yourself, how much is too much when talking about pie?
The answer is never, never too much pie.
Favorites of the day were: Ms. Lovit's Minced Meat, apple (can't beat a classic), cherry almond, and my cousin made one up that consisted of pie crust and corn pudding with pistachios crumbled on top...it was to die for.

no I'm not in this picture, and no I didn't take it.
I may have, however, tried to leave with that little baby you see (top middle of picture, he's in blue stripes), but he's family so I really couldn't have gotten very far.

the diet starts today, wish me luck.
I have to be swimsuit ready by May.
Vegas/California here I come!

Happy Fat Tuesday

I spent 12+ years in Catholic schools (yes I had to wear a uniform...no I will not show you pictures), which means that I (to this day) have no clue what Fat Tuesday is for...
Now tomorrow I'll go and have a cross put on my forehead with ashes from the palms of last years Palm Sunday...but Fat Tuesday? The only thing I know about it is that (it's Tuesday and I'm fat) in New Orleans it's a big deal...and king cake is yummy.
We were just there last Nov. and all I can say is that I will never, never, NEVER visit again and definitely not during Mardi Gras. A regular weekend was bad enough!

Anyways, tomorrow starts Lent. The 40 days until Easter, in which Christians use for fasting and reflection. Also no meat on Fridays, which means bring on the fish! I love fish.

Now I haven't been the best church goer, but I'm still a Christian, so I will be donning the ashes and giving something up (fasting).

As a child we always gave up something like chocolate or soda, and as a child that was hard.
As an adult I want to challenge myself even more, something that in the long run will make me a better person.

I have until tomorrow morning to decide, but I have some ideas.

1. go to the gym 3days a week (there's a free gym at my school)
2. get up everyday at 6am...even on days off.
3. make amends with old friends.
4. STOP PROCRASTINATING! (I'm thinking a daily schedule would help with this!)
5. cut down to only one cup of coffee a day.
6. find a new church.

I think I'm going to do all 6. I know it's a lot, but I'm a big girl, I can do it.

It's a proven fact that you can break any bad habit in 40 days. So why not use lent to give up something that isn't so good for you!

Todays activities...

Today I plan on

1. Doing my homework for my online class....well maybe. Chances are I'll put it off until tomorrow.
2. Laying on my right side with my bum raised up on pillows for at least 2hrs (watch some shows on the DVR).
3. peeing in a cup/OPK
4. Some smexin promptly followed by shoving an Instead Cup up my whoha.
5. Make dinner/eat dinner/clean up dinner.
6. Go see Beastly with mom, dad, aunt and uncle!

Just thought you might want to know what I am up to today...Oh and it's snowing again. I'm seriously contemplating moving to somewhere warmer.

I'll take the pancakes please.

In Jr High we had the talk, ya know the one where the put all the girls in one room and the boys in another?
They sat all us girls down in front of a tv and popped in a video....great skill on their part by the way!

No you may be wondering how pancakes tie into all this, well you'll get it soon.

So this video is about girls on a camping trip...in a back yard. Low and behold on of the girls starts her period. The mom takes over and tries to explain the whole thing to the girls the next morning.
With pancakes.
She sits them all down and they watch her make pancakes while she explains how a woman's body works.
When she's done the pancakes look like a happy perfect uterus.

I didn't eat pancakes for years after that. I was scarred. French toast it was for me. (and I'm sure about 90% of the rest of the girls in my class and I'm positive that if you asked any one of us we could still give you a play by play of that video....to prove my point I would like you all to know that the tent was blue.)

Why you ask am I bringing up the pancake video that refuses to ever leave my memory? After the HSG on Friday I keep thinking about those pancakes...in their perfect form. No tilting to the left.
I bet those pancakes would have cute little silver dollar pancakes by now (please tell me you know what I'm talking about?...no? Silver dollar=baby pancakes) hey you never know they could have cute little blueberry and strawberry silver dollar twins.
Anyways I'm getting off topic here.
My point is that I'm ready for the pancakes now (don't worry I can eat the pancakes now, no permanent damage I guess). The perfect pancakes that don't tilt way left and to the back, the one shaped like a perfect uterus that holds perfect little pancakes.

OK now I have to have pancakes for dinner.

HSG: A.K.A painful test from HELL

My ute hate me.
Want to know how I know???
I made it go through an HSG...
I know what you are thinking, Kat it takes like 5min to do that thing, and yes it causes cramping, but how is this causing the ute to hate you?
Well when your cervix doesn't want to cooperate with the whole procedure, and it takes a whopping 30+ min to do a 5min test....it makes your ute angry.
It really makes it reallllllllllllly angry when the radiologist has to resort to jamming a needle into it 4 times then grab it with a clamp and pull it on out there to then jam a long tube up there, but oh wait that's not all...add in a balloon and some dye and you get yourself a big old angry ute.

so i made myself a mimosa and a bag of rolos (ya know...breakfast of champions!)  and I'm in my most comfy yoga pants and tshirt, and best of all....Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

Good news though, I have no blockages! BUT the uterus does tip to the left, a lot.  But that can be little to no problem, or it could be the reason it's taken so long. Guess we'll find out when Dr. Girlfriend calls.

The fear of the HSG

I get to have an HSG tomorrow.
I'm both looking forward to it and scared of it.
My momma took off to drive me and spend the day with me, I'm so glad she's going to be there. Sometimes a girl just needs her momma.
I'm looking forward to it because this could tell us why we haven't gotten knocked up yet, but that scares at the same time.
What if they tell me I can never have a baby? I think I would mentally break down.

I also have no clue what to expect from this.
What will the rest of the day be like? How am I going to feel? Should I plan on not doing anything for the rest of the day?
How long does it take for all that dye to come out? (makes me want to wear black, an industrial size pad and put a puppy pad on the couch before I sit down.)

I love Dr. Girlfriend, but she's not that good at letting you know what's going on.
She doesn't give info out without you asking first, but the thing is who knows what to ask?
Guess I'll just have to ask my best friend Google.
